Rural Primary School Rehabilitation
Rebuilding classrooms and providing learning materials for a rural primary school serving children who currently learn in unsafe, overcrowded conditions.
The Need
The community's only primary school has deteriorated classrooms with no safe roofing, no desks for many students, and no clean sanitation facilities. Many families report children dropping out during the rainy season when classrooms flood.
Our Proposed Solution
Al Karam proposes to rehabilitate four classrooms, install sanitation facilities, and provide desks, learning materials and teacher training support, in partnership with the local education authority and community leaders.
Beneficiaries
Primary-school-aged children and their teachers
Expected Impact
- Safe, weatherproof classrooms for all enrolled students
- Reduced drop-out during rainy season
- Improved sanitation reducing illness-related absence
